Recently I was working on implementing HP VC Flexfabric for
one of my customers, its straight forward to implement but I was in trouble
with the following issue (But it’s not an issue:-))
I have created two SUS groups with 2 uplink ports ((B1X4,
B1X5, B2X4, B2X5) attached to them. But while I was reviewing configuration
which I have created, I found both of the SUSs are showing as “Linked- Standby”.
I was surprised why both links are showing as “Active- Standby” even though I
am implementing solution as Active- active at VC level. In the following
screenshot, you can see only one uplink port per SUS but in my case I had two
with the same symptom.
After spending bit of time to troubleshoot the issue, I realized that it shows as “Linked- Standby” until you create a VLAN as part of
the SUS. I know it’s not a problem but I was freaking out why both ports are showing as Standby :-)

I have two links connected to a Nexus switch. The vlans are configured but no traffic is passing because the servers have not been migrated. Is this ok given this scenario?
ReplyDeleteNot sure how and where you are checking the traffic but It seems reasonable not to see traffic as there are no servers on SUS/ VLANs migrated yet
DeleteI did not add in my question is that my links are in the Linked-Standby state. Thanks for your reply
